19 Tar Heel Lawmakers Endorse DeSantis for President

“Governor DeSantis is a principled leader, a protector of individual liberties, and the Left’s biggest nightmare,” said North Carolina House Majority Leader John Bell.

NORTH CAROLINA — Today, 19 North Carolina legislators announced their endorsement for Ron DeSantis in his bid for presidency.

“Governor DeSantis is a principled leader, a protector of individual liberties, and the Left’s biggest nightmare,” North Carolina House Majority Leader John Bell (R-Wayne) said in a statement obtained by the North State Journal. “He will beat Joe Biden and usher in a Great American Comeback in which parents are empowered, our streets are safe, and our economy is booming once again.”

The Tar Heel State endorsements follow a slate of endorsements DeSantis received last week from South Carolina lawmakers, bringing the total number of endorsements to 260 state legislators nationwide.

DeSantis picked up 99 state legislator endorsements in his home state of Florida, 51 in New Hampshire, 37 in Iowa, 20 in Oklahoma, 19 in Michigan, and 15 in South Carolina.

Since launching his official bid for the White House, Governor DeSantis has traveled to all four early states and participated in a total of 18 public events. Yesterday, in New Hampshire, DeSantis took questions directly from voters and explained why he’d like to see three new amendments to the U.S. Constitution.
