WASHINGTON, D.C. — Conservative voters weren’t the only ones keeping tabs on Ron DeSantis’ official presidential campaign launch – President Joe Biden was too.
The Biden-Harris campaign blasted out a fundraising email less than an hour after news leaked that the Florida governor had filed paperwork for his White House bid in 2024.
“Here we go: Ron DeSantis just filed to run for president. We need to be ready to fight back,” the email began. “Will you rush a contribution of $25 to the Biden-Harris campaign today to defeat extreme MAGA Republicans like Ron DeSantis?”
The email went on to criticize the governor’s most prominent conservative policies, including the state’s new 6-week abortion ban, Second Amendment protections and strengthened parental rights in public schools.
Jenna Ellis, a former legal advisor for Donald Trump, contended that the email demonstrates that Democrats view DeSantis as their “biggest threat to their extreme and insane woke leftism.”
.@JoeBiden Team just pushed this out.
