TALLAHASSEE, FLORIDA — Florida’s Department of Emergency Management (FDEM) confirmed to The Florida Standard that the migrant flights that arrived in Sacramento, California were part of Florida’s illegal migrant relocation program.
“As you can see from this video, Florida's voluntary relocation is precisely that – voluntary,” FDEM spokeswoman Alecia Collins tells The Florida Standard. “Through verbal and written consent, these volunteers indicated they wanted to go to California.”
According to Collins, the contractor used by FDEM to transport the illegal aliens – who were already present in the Texas interior – ensured the asylum seekers made it safely to Catholic Charities, a third-party NGO used and funded by the federal government.
“From Left-leaning mayors in El Paso, Texas, and Denver, Colorado, the relocation of those illegally crossing the United States border is not new,” Collins told The Florida Standard. “But suddenly, when Florida sends illegal aliens to a sanctuary city, it's false imprisonment and kidnapping.”
The department also emphasized that other state governors and mayors have transported illegal aliens to other U.S. cities – including Texas Governor Greg Abbott who sent migrants to Chicago, Mayor Lori Lightfoot of Chicago who sent them deep into the Illinois suburbs and New York City Mayor Eric Adams, who bussed migrants across the border to Canada.
