Could Florida’s Top Doctor be America’s Next Surgeon General?
MANCHESTER, NEW HAMPSHIRE — Voters in the Granite State will have a unique opportunity on Wednesday to meet Florida’s Surgeon General, Dr. Joseph Ladapo, as he hits the campaign trail with Ron DeSantis.
In a Medical Freedom Town Hall, voters will participate in a forum and ask questions about how DeSantis would handle public health emergencies as president. But the move also indicates that DeSantis may be considering Dr. Ladapo for the job of America’s doctor, tasked with advising citizens on how to improve their health and reduce the risk of illness and injury.
Earlier this year, Dr. Ladapo advised Florida’s Legislature on action necessary to lower prescription drug prices, urged Floridians to live a healthier lifestyle, fought to protect children from “politics-based medicine” and saved a man’s life at the Florida Capitol. He also launched a frontal assault on the vaccine narrative in cooperation with DeSantis, promising to go after Big Pharma to hold them accountable for dangerous side effects.
Voters in New Hampshire crave freedom. Between inflation, exploding national debt and an incompetent pandemic response, New Hampshire has expanded conservative personal freedoms, living up to its motto as the “Live Free or Die” state.
The town hall event, hosted by super PAC Never Back Down, will be held at noon on Wednesday in Manchester. “Dr. Ladapo will be attending in his personal capacity,” the super PAC noted.
In February, The Florida Standard’s editor-in-chief, Will Witt, sat down with Dr. Ladapo for an exclusive interview to discuss Florida’s plans if another pandemic were to occur, masks on kids, problems with big pharma, and what needs to happen with healthcare in Florida.
