TALLAHASSEE, FLORIDA – Governor Ron DeSantis today announced that he will be visiting four counties of the state to promote his education agenda. The tour, which starts this coming Sunday, will include stops in Miami-Dade, Sarasota, Volusia and Duval.
The effort is dedicated to the pro-parent, student-first school board candidates that the governor has endorsed. “These 29 candidates are committed to advancing a bold education agenda in Florida. Parents can rest easy knowing that these candidates will fully support their rights, support good curriculum, and ensure that students reach their full potential in our K-12 system,” DeSantis said in a tweet on July 28.
According to statement from the campaign, DeSantis “endorsed these candidates because he is committed to student success, parental rights, and curriculum transparency, which all start at the school board level.”
“We are excited to kick off the DeSantis Education Agenda Tour with Governor Ron DeSantis and his endorsed school board candidates to share his bold education agenda at stops across the state. These school board candidates are committed to advancing the Governor’s student-first agenda and securing parental rights in education. We look forward to seeing the enthusiasm for the DeSantis Education Agenda as we prepare for pro-parent school board wins across the state on August 23,” Lindsey Curnutte, the campaign spokesperson, told The Florida Standard.
