Florida GOP Chair Names School Board Strategist “Most Valuable Politico” for 2022

Sen. Joe Gruters named Indian River County committeeman Shawn Frost the 2022 MVP for his influence in school board races across the state.

TALLAHASSEE, FLORIDA — Indian River County State Committeeman Shawn Frost’s efforts in school board races across the state earned him the Florida GOP’s prized Chairman’s MVP award for 2022.

The award, given to the “Most Valuable Politico,” recognized Frost’s contributions to the “Build the Bench Committee” that worked with candidates in non-partisan elections, such as school board races. The committee’s stated goal is “conservative domination at every level of government.”

According to a press release, Frost “scheduled, promoted, and attended trainings provided by the Leadership Institute throughout Florida to recruit, develop, and prepare candidates and campaign workers for the 2022 election.” The Institute trained nearly 2,000 conservatives across the state.

THANKED DESANTIS AND RENNER

In his acceptance speech, Frost gave a hat tip to his fellow Build the Bench Committee members and county level Republican Executive Committee members. He also gave special thanks to Governor Ron DeSantis and Speaker Paul Renner for their commitments to helping secure conservative victories in school board elections across Florida. Twenty-four of the 30 school board candidates who received the governor’s endorsement won their respective elections.

Frost also shared a “soft announcement” that he will enter the race for the role of Florida GOP’s Vice Chairman in the February election.

Frost expects to formally announce next week by touting support from Congressman Byron Donalds, parental rights activist and conservative media personality Quisha King and former RPOF Chairwoman Carole Jean Jordan.
