FLORIDA — Today, Florida Republican Party Chair Christian Ziegler announced the Make America Florida Committee, an effort by the Florida GOP to shape the 2024 National Republican Party Platform. Ziegler says Governor Ron DeSantis and the Florida Legislature lead the nation on issues that affect everyday Americans.
“When I visit any of the other 49 states, I always hear that they want more Florida in their state, and it ain’t the sunshine and beaches they are talking about,” Ziegler tells The Florida Standard. “There is a strong hunger for Florida Freedom, which is why I have launched the Florida GOP Make America Florida Committee.”
NATIONAL CONSERVATIVE PLATFORM
In 2016, the RNC passed a solidly conservative Republican platform. That platform was ratified again in 2020 without changes due to national challenges related to COVID-19. But in 2024, the RNC will convene its Platform Committee once again. The Florida GOP will highlight Florida-led successes and policies and present them to the RNC Platform Committee, which ratifies the official platform positions for Republican elected officials nationwide.
State Committeeman Chris Russell (Wakulla County), Chair of the Make America Florida Committee, told The Florida Standard that many issues have surfaced since 2016, including COVID restrictions and lockdowns, parental rights and indoctrination of children by the Left.
“The governor and the legislature have made Florida a top destination for families and businesses – people are yearning to live in the free state of Florida,” Russell tells The Florida Standard. “They’ve laid out a plan that fellow Republicans around the U.S. can follow and build upon.
