
TALLAHASSEE, FLORIDA — Governor Ron DeSantis and former president Donald Trump are dead even in the race for Florida’s GOP primary in 2024, according to a new poll.
A Sachs Media survey of Republican voters in the Sunshine State showed both politicians earned 41 percent of the total responses. The next closest candidate was Mike Pence, who garnered a meager 3 percent.

The governor also scored 30 percent of “second choice” selections – 14 points more than Trump’s 16 percent. DeSantis composite score of first and second choice selections landed him at 71 percent, compared to the former president’s 57 percent.
The poll was conducted between June 9 and 11.
Over the next nine months, Trump and DeSantis will continue to battle over the 8 percent who selected “unsure.” Florida Republicans will cast their GOP Presidential Primary vote on March 19, 2024.
