BROOKFIELD, WISCONSIN — Voters who watched Wednesday’s Republican debate said Governor Ron DeSantis performed the best, according to a recent Washington Post poll. The survey with FiveThirtyEight and Ipsos revealed that 29 percent of GOP voters felt that DeSantis “won the debate.”
DeSantis said he spent 100 percent of his time speaking about his vision for the future and his accomplishments in Florida.
“There’s a lot of people up there that said a lot of things,” DeSantis told Fox and Friends. “I’m the only one that’s actually delivered on all these issues – whether it’s economy, whether it’s crime, the border – you name it.”
“Those are the issues that we were really strong on, the issues that people really care about,” DeSantis added. “I was more interested in talking directly to the people at home rather than some of the bickering that was back and forth.”
Entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy came in second, with 26 percent of voters saying he made the most impact. Former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley was the only other candidate to secure double digits, with 15 percent of potential Republican primary voters saying she performed the best.
The next Republican debate will take place on September 27 at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley, California.
