TALLAHASSEE, FLORIDA — Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’ re-election campaign released two TV advertisements contrasting the governor’s historic record of delivering tax relief for Floridians with Charlie Crist’s record-high tax hikes while serving in Congress and as a former governor.

“Relief From Charlie” is a 30-second television and digital advertisement being aired statewide by the Republican Party of Florida.
“In Florida, Charlie Crist approved the largest tax increase in state history. In Washington, Crist voted for the largest tax increase in American history.”

“Delivering Relief” is a 15-second television and digital advertisement being aired statewide by the Republican Party of Florida.

“Governor DeSantis delivered Florida’s largest ever tax relief package and secured a record budget surplus, and there’s more on the way.”

Governor DeSantis implemented the largest tax relief package in Florida history, providing more than $1.2 billion of tax relief. Ten sales tax holidays were implemented, including:

  • One-month fuel tax holiday
  • Three-month sales tax holiday on children’s books
  • One-year sales tax holiday on children’s diapers and baby and toddler clothing
  • 14-day back-to-school sales tax holiday

In addition to tax relief, Florida businesses remained open through the pandemic, Florida leads the nation in new business formations, and Florida’s labor force has grown at a faster rate than the national average.
