A statewide TV ad campaign featuring regular Floridians’ testimonials about Governor DeSantis’ policies on education and COVID-19 launched today, his campaign office said. The effort includes nine testimonials from citizens and two videos on DeSantis’ accomplishments.
One of the ads in the new campaign – called “My Florida Story” – features Mary, whose husband Steve was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer’s. Mary had to place him in a care center and was then prevented from seeing him in person due to draconian pandemic restrictions. Then, one day, she got a call from Governor DeSantis’ office. The governor and his wife came to Jacksonville to see her.
“I sat down with him and the first lady. They both listened. One month later, he announced that he was letting us back in,” Mary says in the video.
This is the third TV ad announcement from the DeSantis re-election campaign in two weeks. Earlier this month the campaign launched “Dear Governor,” and last week “Freedom is Here to Stay” and “Libre.”
