DES MOINES, IOWA — As national polls show the former president in the lead, two polls conducted in critical first-voter states Iowa and New Hampshire provide a different picture.

Axios reports that two surveys conducted by Public Opinion Strategies from March 21 to 23 show DeSantis leading Trump by eight points in Iowa (45 percent to 37 percent). In New Hampshire, the two are tied at 39 percent each.
These polls refer to a head-to-head matchup. If other candidates – Haley, Pence and Ramaswamy – were thrown into the mix, DeSantis and Trump ended up tied in Iowa but in New Hampshire, Trump was up 12 points over DeSantis.
When it comes to favorability ratings, the Florida governor beat the former president in both states.
