Poll: DeSantis Leads Trump and Biden in Nevada

The governor leads Trump in two key categories among Silver State voters.

LAS VEGAS, NEVADA — Republican voters in Nevada prefer Florida Governor Ron DeSantis over both President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump, a new Public Opinion Strategies poll suggests.

DeSantis holds a 3-point lead over Biden among voters in the Silver State, claiming 44 percent to the President’s 41 percent. Another 10 percent say they remain undecided.

Meanwhile, Trump trails both DeSantis and Biden by one point in head-to-head matchups.

The poll was conducted by Public Opinion Strategies between April 17 and April 20 and surveyed 500 Nevada voters via phone. The survey’s margin of error is plus or minus 4.4 percentage points, according to Las Vegas Review Journal.

SWING STATE SOURING ON BIDEN

Nevada was a decisive swing state in the 2020 election, ultimately going blue for Biden. Democratic Presidential Candidate Hillary Clinton also won the state in 2016, beating Trump by just over 25,000 votes.

The Trump campaign disputed the results and alleged that “over 1,500 ballots were cast by dead voters, that 42,248 people voted ‘multiple times.’”

The poll suggests voters might be regretting their choice 30 months later, as 52 percent “totally disapprove” of Biden’s job performance to date, compared to just 40 percent who “totally approve.”

DeSantis visited Nevada on March 11 to promote his new book.
