TAMPA, FLORIDA — Just two days after his State of the Union speech, President Joe Biden heads to the Sunshine State, where he will speak at the University of Tampa at 1:30 pm EST. The expected topics are the economy, Social Security and Medicare.
The president is attempting to boost his dismal approval ratings by going after Republicans on Social Security and Medicare. In the latest Rasmussen poll, 54 percent of respondents disapproved of the president’s job performance.
“If anyone needed a reminder as to why counties like Hillsborough and Pinellas flipped for Governor DeSantis, they have one today with Biden’s visit to Tampa. Biden and Democrats consistently put special interests over educators and students, inflationary spending over the best interest of American families, and open borders over American security,” the Republican Party of Florida commented on the president’s visit.
Lately, President Biden has been going after Florida Republican Senator Rick Scott, claiming that Scott wants to take away the entitlement programs.
"You know, I remind you that Rick Scott from Florida, the guy who ran the U.S. Senate campaign, has a plan. I got his brochure right here," Biden said during a speech in Wisconsin on Wednesday.
But according to the senator, the intention of his plan is to sunset all federal programs every five years in order to reduce waste.
🧵 Last night, @JoeBiden rambled for a while, but it seems he forgot to share the facts:

In my plan, I suggested the following: All federal legislation sunsets in 5 yrs. If a law is worth keeping, Congress can pass it again.
