NEW YORK, NY — In a recently surfaced video, a panel of radical prosecutors with ties to Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg are seen boasting about how they are refusing to prosecute crimes.
Bragg was scheduled to speak at the Change from Within: A New Vision for the 21st Century Prosecutor event late last year but was unable to attend because “he had what he thought was an important case starting [on the day of the panel] in Manhattan having to do with the Trump Organization,” the panel moderator is heard explaining at the beginning of the video.
DISMANTLING THE LEGAL SYSTEM
While Bragg may have been absent, other prosecutors made no efforts to hide their extremist political agendas. State Attorney Sarah George of Crittenden County, Vermont spoke at length about her efforts to “dismantle the [criminal legal] system.”
According to local media reports from earlier this year, George dismissed two murder charges and two attempted murder charges dating back to 2019, claiming she would be unable to get a conviction. When the Vermont Attorney General’s Office pursued the case, George attempted to have the state prosecutor’s car towed from the courthouse.
UNDERMINING STATE LEGISLATURES
Jonathan Hullihan, Deputy General Counsel for Citizens Defending Freedom says these practices not only undermine the entire criminal justice system while placing progressivism above public safety, but also the separation of powers, and often the constitutional oath of office required by public officials.
“Mr. Bragg is no different, with the one exception being this politically motivated circus related to pursuing political opponents, like his case against former President Donald Trump,” Hullihan said.
SOROS-FUNDED ORGANIZATIONS
The panel was hosted by Harvard Law School and sponsored by the Bernard Koteen Office of Public Interest Advising and Fair and Just Prosecution, a project by the Tides Center, which has received millions of dollars in funding from Leftist billionaire George Soros.
Fair and Just Prosecution is the organization that liaised with former Hillsborough County State Attorney Andrew Warren and his staff. Warren led a controversial task force in cooperation with the Florida Democratic Party “to bring Florida’s justice system into the 21st century.”
