Uber Offers Free Rides to Shelters in Aftermath of Hurricane Idalia

Here’s how you or someone you know can get a free round-trip ride to Florida shelter locations.

FLORIDA — Uber announced today that they will offer free round-trip rides, up to $35 each way, to and from a state-approved evacuation shelter for those who need somewhere to stay in the aftermath of Hurricane Idalia.

Here’s how you or someone you know can redeem a free round trip:

  1. Open your app
  2. Tap “Account” on the bottom right
  3. Tap “Wallet”
  4. Scroll down to “+ Add Promo Code”
  5. Enter code IDALIARELIEF
  6. Select any of the following: Alachua, Citrus, Collier, Columbia, DeSoto, Dixie, Duval, Flagler, Gadsden, Gilchrist, Hernando, Hillsborough, Jefferson, Lake, Liberty, Leon, Manatee, Marion, Nassau, Orange, Pasco, Pinellas, Polk, Putnam, Sarasota, St. Johns, Sumter, Union, and Volusia County state-approved Florida evacuation shelters listed at floridadisaster.org/planprepare/shelters.

Note: A maximum discount of up to $35 per ride allowed. Ride offer valid for up to two trips per rider. Driver-partner earnings will not be affected. Rides must be requested to or from any state-approved evacuation shelter in Florida. Promo code must be applied before requesting the ride for discount to apply. Discount does not apply to tips.
