TAMPA, FLORIDA — Sunshine State cowboys starred in a classic “Florida Man” story on Monday after they rescued a runaway cow clogging up traffic on the highway.
Local ranchers managed to detain the cow after it had begun roaming near interstate 75 causing major delays in traffic, the Tampa Bay Times reports.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office tweeted a video of the rescue operation, calling it “udderly great news.”

With the help of local ranchers, #teamHCSO wrangled a cow that had made its way to I-75 near Big Bend Road! Loose cows on the road pose a serious threat, thankfully, we were able to keep drivers and the community safe. 🐮 pic.twitter.com/QEnh37bdKQ
Although the aerial footage doesn’t show the moment the cow was subdued, one of the cowboys is shown readying his rope to reel in the stray cow.
